About @ BalmainRoad

When Peter Thompson took over the 3000 sqm old bakery site on Balmain Road at Lilyfield, he wanted to create a unique centre for lovers of vintage, antiques, retro, industrial, design and arts. Two years down the track, @Balmain Road is fulfilling this vision and yet still continues to evolve.

As Peter says “We strongly believe in the benefits of bricks and mortar shopping for our type of business; customers need to ‘touch and feel’ the goods on display; they need to be able to visualise, compare and, overall, be inspired by the range we carry”, he added. “And we need to continually evolve. The @eats café and The Hairdresser are part of this evolution and so is The Hanger – our 800sqm space at the back of the centre reserved for event bookings. There’s more to come!”

It’s hard to describe @Balmain Road: as you walk in you are greeted by the smell of freshly brewed coffee, to the left you’ll see the light filled @eats café and The Hairdressers behind a wall of vintage glass doors and windows; to the right an assortment of vintage, antique and retro furniture and lighting. But this is just the promise of things to come.

Walk past the café and the size and scale of the Centre hits you: 50 shops displaying a huge array of items from different eras. Wide aisles and a mix of large and small shop spaces, allow for leisurely shopping and easy viewing of merchandise.

To celebrate its 2nd birthday, @Balmain Road is offering Centre-wide Birthday specials during the months of October and November. New shops are opening and new stock arrives weekly. It’s great value and a great shopping experience. Open from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm 7days a week.
